| i've been doing alot of thinking lately, and alot of remembering.
looking back on high school, there are plenty of things i could have
done without (like all that very unnecessary drama). but for what
its worth, i really did like high school. i mean, sure, it was an
awkward period in our lives where we were all figuring out who we were,
are, and will become, but we were all figuring that out together.
now we're about to leave for college and i keep wondering where all of
you will end up and if i'll ever see you again after june 13th.
i guess what i'm getting at is all of these "lasts" - last sports
awards, last full week of school, senior awards, and all these people
looking at you like you're moving to... i dont know, the north pole,
never to return - these moments have made it real. we really are
leaving. and i really may not see alot of you ever again,
especially since i'm going pretty far away. i mean, i know that
there are a few people who i will never lose touch with because they're
basically my family. but there are so many people that i really
care about who i'm afraid will just fade away after june 13th.
i didn't think leaving would be this hard.

| trinity college class of 2010
freezing to death in conneticut here i come... haha... at least i get a whole new wardrobe!
i'm in the guided studies program. one of the honors
programs. basically, i get to go on field trips to NYC and boston
and work my butt off with reading. its like MEHAP only ten times
more extensive and hard, no navarro, and no sister wendy... ... haha, maybe i can convince my professors to show a couple episodes
my favorite sister wendy quote (refering to a painting of the aftermath
of pompei) --> "and it was sad for them, because they all died"
on another note, MVDB PRIDE! awesome job at the race guys, i love
you all and will miss you terribly next year... amanda, we are going to
need ALOT of tissue boxes

| well, here's the final list
Rejected: Brown, Columbia, Georgetown
Wait-Listed: Barnard, Claremont McKenna, Tufts
Accepted: Emerson Honors Program, Occidental, Sarah Lawrence, Trinity
basically, i got waitlisted at all of my targets except Trinity and
rejected from all my reaches. after that first day though
where I got 2 bad letters in one day and had an all around horrible day
anyways and cried myself to sleep, I got used to the not so happy
letters. heck, if anything my not so huge amount of acceptances
has narrowed down my choices (i figure if a college wait-listed me,
screw them, if they don't think i'm special enough for a full out
acceptance, i don't think they're special enough to have me, so forget
staying on those lists). so that leaves me with 4 to choose from.
i'm sorta thinking aloud here, sorry
emerson - the scholarship is nice and i like the school and the area
(boston!), but the only thing is that its so concentrated that if i
changed my mind and didn't want to major in journalism or political
communication, i'd be up a river without a paddle, so i'm thinking no
sarah lawrence - too quirky for me, so no
basically, it's down to occidental or trinity. trinity is ranked
25th while occidental is only 41st. but i haven't seen occidental
yet, and i'm planning on visiting both over break, so we'll see.
the scholarship from occidental is very enticing, but i haven't gotten
my financial aid package from trinity yet and i
don't know if i got accepted into their honors programs yet.
still, i've always dreamed of going to college on the east coast.
yet now when i'm actually making the decision, can i really go that far
away from all the people i know, except for the whole 2 other people
who will probably go east coast? goodness gracious
